Soojin Suh, a drummer and composer who studied jazz in both Korea and the United States, is celebrated for her unique compositional approach that merges musical elements from East and West—traditional Korean music, classical, and jazz.

Through various projects such as the Coloris Trio, Near East Quartet, Chordless Quartet, and Baum Sae, she continues to explore the harmony of diverse genres, blending improvisation with intricate composition to expand the boundaries of jazz.

Soojin Suh’s innovative approach and dynamic musical expression are drawing significant attention both domestically and internationally, showcasing new possibilities in jazz.

Since her debut with The Moon in Your Hand in 2015, Soojin Suh gained international recognition by participating in the Near East Quartet's album released by Germany's ECM Records in 2018. The 2020 album Colorist by Soojin Suh's Coloris Trio received widespread acclaim from music critics and won the Best Jazz & Crossover Performance Award at the Korean Music Awards. Her works were selected among the Best Jazz Albums by Bandcamp for three consecutive years from 2020. After being chosen as a showcase artist for Germany’s Jazzahead! in 2020, she collaborated with Kit Downes (2020) and Camilla George (2021) at the K-Music Festival co-hosted by the EFG London Jazz Festival and the Korean Cultural Centre. In 2023, she captivated audiences with her unique musical world at Singapore’s Jazz in July Festival and Germany’s Enjoy Jazz Festival.

This coming November, Soojin Suh is set for a European tour and is also preparing for the release of her 5th studio album.
